Extra protection for your account with two-factor authentication

The image shows how you can log in to Formcentric with a second factor.

In a digital world where cyberattacks and data breaches are becoming more common, protecting sensitive information is more important than ever. Two-factor authentication offers an effective method for securing your online accounts. Formcentric has now introduced this security feature for your account as part of its latest update.

In this blog post, we explain what makes two-factor authentication so effective and why your Formcentric account needs this extra level of protection.

What is two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Two-factor authentication adds an additional level of security to the conventional login procedure, requiring you to enter a second ‘factor’ alongside your password. Typically, this factor will be a one-time code, which you receive from an authentication app such as Google Authenticator or Authy on your mobile device. This means your account stays protected even if someone happens to know your password: account login cannot be completed without entering the code.

Why should I use 2FA?

Two-factor authentication significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access. Even if someone manages to steal or guess your password, that is no longer enough to access your account. This kind of extra protection is especially important when working with sensitive data. Formcentric offers us a good example here. Apart from creating forms, you also use Formcentric to collect large amounts of sensitive data from form submissions – such as personal customer data, contact details and payment information, internal feedback or even medical histories. This data is not only subject to strict data protection regulations but also depends on the special, trusted relationship between you and your customers.

How to set up two-factor authentication in your Formcentric account

With Formcentric, setting up two-factor authentication is straightforward and can be completed in just a few steps. First of all, log into your Formcentric account and go to the ‘My profile’ area. Here you will see the option ‘Set up two-factor authentication’. After selecting this option, a QR code is displayed. All you need to do now is to scan this code using an authentication app (e.g. Google Authenticator or Authy) on your mobile device. Your account now has additional protection. For a detailed guide, please see our Help pages.

Improving security for your whole organisation

If you are managing a sizeable team in Formcentric, you can activate compulsory two-factor authentication for all of your accounts. Your users will then need to set up and use two-factor authentication every time they log in. In just a few steps, you can improve security across your entire organisation and ensure that sensitive data is properly protected. For more information, see our Help pages.

Act now to protect your account

Two-factor authentication gives you an extra layer of security that protects both your Formcentric account and your customer data. This kind of security should not be optional – especially for forms that are used to collect confidential information.
